Reference Photo by Wet Canvas photographer/member Sarahjayne. Along with a few of my own Cocker Spaniel photos. My brother-in-law has a cocker that looks just like this one but I just loved this pose.

I used a new technique on this particular portrait. I used a blackie drawing pencil along with black, light umber, dark grape, dark brown Prismacolors, to achieve the dark background.
