Description: A miniature study of a egret. My second miniature. I used Prismacolor pencils and Turner acrylics.
The egret is several of the herons. In the 19th and early part of the 20th century, many species of egrets were endangered by relentless hunting, for hat plumes.
The Egret is symbolic in many cultures. It is known as creator of light. It represents strength, purity, patience and long life.
