The red fox is a species native to North America. They have a keen sense of sight, hearing and smell and can adapt to any type of environment. They are suspicious by nature, very shy, nervous, and flighty. They are quite cunning and are very clever at escaping from their enemies. The red fox diet consists of fruits, berries, grasshoppers, snakes, nesting birds, domestic fowl, and small rodents. They do not chew their food but swallow it whole.

In animal lore the fox represents twilight, feminie magic of camouflage, shapeshifting and invisibility, elusiveness, provider, agility, cleverness and cunning.
